which Marriott /Renproperty for first visit

We are using points and either the Marrriot or the Renaissance Pere Marquette are available, which one to choose is the question. We have never been to NOLA before and want to be close to sights etc. Any suggestions as to restaurants we should not miss would be appreciated. The JW is not available or the Ren Arts.

Thanks

I%26#39;d definitely pick the New Orleans Marriott. Better location and just as nice as the Pere Marquette. Also, the PM doesn%26#39;t currently have a hotel restaurant as the former Rene Bistrot space is being renovated for new owners.

Just a quick FYI, the Marriott is currently undergoing phase two of renovations. The pool, lobby restaurant and lobby bar are closed. These renovations are supposed to be complete Oct 1.

I stayed at the PM and I was not impressed. The Ren Arts is much better, too bad that you could get there. The regular marriott might be just as nice since it is a JW. For restaurants, there are many..

The New Orleans Marriott and the JW Marriott are two different properties, FYI. The NO Marriott was built in the 1970s on the FQ side of Canal Street while the JW is across the street. It was originally built as Le Meridien New Orleans.
