new orleans hotels on bourbon street

Wer%26#39;e going to NO from 9/21 to 9/23 and want to stay on bourbon Street. Have read reviews on Chateau Sonesta, also looking at the Astor, Royal Sonesta and Inn of Bourbon. Want to be able to have a good time and not be far from our hotel. Also noted the parking prices are ridiculous, any suggestions to cheap parking (safe). Any input on the above or other suggestions?

Not all that you mentioned are on Bourbon St (they%26#39;re just off it about 1/2 a block). Try bookit.com for the best rates. A couple of the mystery hotels are the Chateau Sonesta, the Astor, the St Anne Marie. Also consider the Bourbon Orleans. The closet hotels are the Prince Conti, the St Louis, and the others already mentioned. On the weekends I park in the parking spaces at the meters. Its free and nobody has messed with one of my vehicles in 6 years. There is a cheap parking lot on Canal for $10 a day. Other than that there aren%26#39;t many close by.

I would also add the Bourbon Orleans to that list. Royal Sonesta is the best of the Bourbon St hotels (and in the Quarter IMO). Next I would go with the Bourbon Orleans. The Inn on Bourbon is nice too so it%26#39;s not a bad option if you don%26#39;t go with one of the other two. I haven%26#39;t parked down there in years so I can%26#39;t help with that.

My favorite of the ones you mentioned is the Royal Sonesta, it is a beautiful hotel. For the best location, I would say that would be either Inn on Bourbon, or as another poster suggested, Bourbon Orleans. As far as parking, if you don%26#39;t want to pay to park, you might want to think about staying at the LeRichelieu Hotel, they have free parking right at the hotel. They aren%26#39;t as central to the action as the others, but still within a very easy walk, no more than 5 minutes or so. LeRichelieu isn%26#39;t on Bourbon Street, but if you don%26#39;t want to pay for parking, that would be a good option.

I agree with the Royal Sonesta and Bourbon Orleans suggestions.
