Question for Cajun Wave

Hi - I tried to send this message just to you, but for some reason, my computer wouldn%26#39;t let me. Will be there for Mardi Gras 2008 - are all the restaurants closed on Fat Tuesday or will any of them be open and/or taking reservations. Thanks for your help. Stacey

Question for Cajun Wave

This is a question others will no doubt have opinions on but yes, you%26#39;re right. Some (not all!) restaurants are indeed closed or have abbreviated Fat Tuesday hours. Why? Because Fat Tuesday is more about the party and less about the food. We always grab po-boys or eat in one of the casual places on Tuesday and call it an early day. The costuming and ';street parade'; of costumes starts very early, as does the Zulu parade. Unlike the other days of Carnival, Fat Tuesday hits its peak early afternoon and the crowd starts fading by 6pm or so.

And those %26#39;few%26#39; places open will have a minimum of 90 minutes wait or two hours wait. We did get into Bubba Gumps fairly quickly but that was way down the list for choices.
