Did anybody watch it on Monday night and what do you think?
I was wondering if it was actually all filmed in NOLA?
K Ville?
K-Ville is filmed in New Orleans. I%26#39;ve seen the film crews out and about.
K Ville?
I thought the story line was unrealistic...one of the cops is a prisoner who escaped from prison during the flooding after Katrina..kind of ridiculous. And I thought the story itself (socialite trying to sabotage the recovery of the Ninth Ward) was far-fetched. But, I did love seeing New Orleans and all of the familiar places. Can%26#39;t wait to get back in December!
I didn%26#39;t care for it much. Agree about the ex prisoner thing. The scenery was nice though.
I cringed when the officer was describing all the problems with New Orleans and he said something like ';a crime rate that is through the roof.'; Doesn%26#39;t do much to help the already poor opinion of New Orleans people have developed due to the media.
Yeah, all those shots being fired in the French Quarter and CDB on this show wouldn%26#39;t actually inspire confidence in visitors lol.
I turned it off as soon as I realized someone had the last name, Dubois. There are more Watsons in the phone book than Dubois.
Movie people love those French names!
I missed the show but I wonder when a show will have true local accents and not the forced southern drawl or mangled cajun?
Cajunyank: I agree. I watched the show %26amp; cringed at the accents, or lack thereof.
Just once it would be nice to hear a nice local NOLA accent.
I';ll take listening to Dennis Quaid in The Big Easy over how badly the actors sounded on KVille.
But hey, at least I got to see the city. :)
I watched it just because it was about New Orleans and I may watch it again, just to see the city. I really do not think the show will last very long.
I agree, the story line is a bit unrealistic. I find it hard to believe that an escape prisoner would be able to become a cop and that a current cop would just ignore it.
I was really worried about how they made the city seem like ';the wild west';. As if people are going around committing crime and shooting people. What are the odds of 2 drive by shootings in the french quarter in 2 days. I am not sure if it will make people go to NOLA or stay away.
I am hoping that some money went to the city during filming, etc. But, that may be the only good that comes out of the show. The should probably cancel it before people stop going there.
Bucket, your line about last names is SO true. Every New Orleans movie has to have French names, a fat corrupt sheriff and a voodoo priestess, even if she has NOTHING to do with the storyline.
I have exactly one friend here with a French-sounding last name. The rest are very common and mostly very Anglo.
Heck, I%26#39;m from the French part of Louisiana and still have an Anglo name! :-)
Quite unrealistic. Another media story.
