Coffee lovers out there..
I have been to NOLA three times now and by far the best coffee that I have had is from PJ%26#39;s. They have 4 different types of iced coffee, 2 decaf and 2 regular...
Now if you are visiting for the first time and want to journey to cafe du Monde..feel free but keep in mind that the better coffee is PJ%26#39;s...

PJ%26#39;s is fine but no better than CC%26#39;s, which I actually prefer. Still, Cafe DuMonde is a must. Other coffee shops aren%26#39;t.
Where and what is CC%26#39;s?
CC%26#39;s is the big rival coffee chain to PJ%26#39;s in this area. Starbucks is a distant third. CC%26#39;s is owned by Community Coffee, which is what many (most?) New Orleanians drink at home.
Forgot to mention that there%26#39;s a CC%26#39;s on Royal at St. Philip!
And for those of us who can%26#39;t drink coffee, Cafe Beignet makes the most awesome hot chocolate. Homemade, real hot chocolate. Soooo good on a cold day! There%26#39;s one on Decatur and one on Royal.
CCs and Pjs are both local chain type coffee shops similar to starbucks.
People go to PJ%26#39;s for the coffee. They go to Cafe du Monde for the experience. Back in the day, we went to Morning Call for the same reason. Sadly, it%26#39;s long gone from the Quarter.
