Just got back a few days ago and i have to say we had a blast! The weather was nice for the most part few rain showers here and there but no biggie was still great.We got in Thursday afternoon and went straight out to get a bite to eat and walk around a bit very nice relaxing time. Naturally by that evening it was on to Bourbon street for some serious drinking which we had no trouble finding great time. Hit the blacksmith shop and had no trouble with the noise level we where all able to speak without yelling juke box was low and they even turned it off for the piano player which was great by the way. Stopped in Pat O%26#39;s of course. Basically just wondered about bar hopped good time. Stopped in Angeli%26#39;s for a late night dinner which seemed to be a daily event. Love the food there aswomly good. Friday got up half way early went to the cemetary strolled through there for a good while loved it!. After that it was to the garden district for anquite shopping great little stores down magazine street had a wonderful time.Later that evening met up with some friends and hit Frenchmen street for bar hopping there love the R bar . Theres something to be said about little dives . Wondered back in dragged everyone to may favorite The Whirling Dervish. Saturday was a good sleep in day then back to the quarter for the typical tourist shopping had to get the kids and everyone else their gifts. Saturday night met up with yet more friends had dinner at the Gumbo shop was very good. Then of course off to Bourbon with the new group drinks drink drinks and more drinks. Sunday breakfast at the Clover Grill something quick and cheap not bad but not great. Typical greasy spoon type of place. Then off to the Honey island for a swamp tour which i must say is a must. Not only did we get to see the swamp life gators, birds , giant spiders, turtles and such we also got to see some of the storm devistation along the way. After the tour dinner at Deannies not bad but im still more for Angeli%26#39;s . Then can you guess what we did? Yep more drinking and parting! Monday we just kinda walked around did a little more shopping stopped in the Red fish grill for lunch was very good. Monday night we went to the Saints game OYVAY! After the game got a bite to eat and a few drinks then headed back for some rest before the flight out tuesday.

I am really feeling like the neighborhood grouch today for offering opposite views of others%26#39; recommendations, but I have to say that Angeli is a place I won%26#39;t touch these days. Just filthy! Both the staff and the kitchen are dirty and it%26#39;s not just due to age like at other FQ eateries.

I%26#39;ve had really good food there in the past. I just won%26#39;t risk it these days.

I am glad to hear the good news about Lafittes...maybe they have heard the complaints about the noise levels!!
